Cast a subset of spells in your libraryInfinite black manaInfinite green manaInfinite red manaInfinite white mana
How it works
Activate Codie by paying 2 and tapping it, adding .
Activate Thassa's Ire by paying 1, untapping Codie.
Repeat.
Once you have an arbitrarily large number of Codie triggers, you may cast any instant or sorcery spell by paying its mana cost.
Codie triggers for each time you activated its ability.
Resolve the first trigger, causing you to exile cards from the top of your library until you exile an instant or sorcery spell with lesser mana value, and allowing you to cast that spell without paying its mana cost.
Repeat step 6 for each remaining trigger.
You may also repeat this combo for each instant and/or sorcery card in your hand, and on subsequent turns.
This ingenious loop transforms Codie, Vociferous Codex into an engine for infinite mana and cascading spellcasting by turning your entire board alive and cheap to activate. Because Opalescence makes other non-Aura enchantments into creatures, Training Grounds steps in to slash the activation cost of Thassa's Ire down to just a single blue mana. This allows you to repeatedly tap and untap Codie, generating infinite colored mana while stacking up a mountain of delayed cascade triggers. When you are ready, those accumulated Codie triggers let you rifle through your library to cast every single instant and sorcery for free.
