How it works

1. Cast The Balrog from the command zone by paying .
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing The Balrog, adding .
3. Choose to return The Balrog to the command zone from your graveyard.
4. When The Balrog dies, it and Ogre Slumlord trigger.
5. Resolve the Balrog trigger, destroying any artifact and/or creature an opponent controls.
6. Resolve the Ogre Slumlord trigger, creating a 1/1 Rat creature token.
7. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Rat, adding .
8. Repeat.
