How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Michelangelo.
2. When Michelangelo dies, it and Deathrender trigger.
3. Resolve the Michelangelo trigger, returning it from your graveyard to your hand.
4. Resolve the Deathrender trigger, putting Michelangelo from your hand onto the battlefield and attaching Deathrender to it.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Michelangelo, On the Scene into a self-returning sacrifice engine by leveraging the equipment support of Deathrender. As you feed Michelangelo to Phyrexian Altar to generate a mana of any color, both his own death trigger and Deathrender's trigger fire concurrently. Resolving Michelangelo's trigger first returns him safely to your hand, allowing Deathrender's ability to immediately cheat him right back onto the battlefield while reattaching itself to him for the next iteration.
