How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Tatterkite
2. When Tatterkite dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its static effect.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Phyrexian Altar to turn your creatures into a steady stream of colored mana through endless sacrifice. The real magic happens because Tatterkite's static ability prevents counters from ever being placed on it, bypassing the usual downside of the persist ability granted by Isilu, Carrier of Twilight (the back face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn). Because Tatterkite returns to the battlefield good as new every single time it hits the graveyard, you can feed it back into the Altar indefinitely to generate infinite mana and trigger all your death effects at will.
