How it works

  1. Activate Workhorse by removing four +1/+1 counters, adding CCCC.
  2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Workhorse, adding one mana of any color.
  3. Workhorse dies, triggering Nim Deathmantle, causing you to pay 4 to return Workhorse from your graveyard to the battlefield, and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
  4. Workhorse enters the battlefield with four +1/+1 counters on it.
  5. Repeat.
