How it works

1. If Morselhoarder has any -1/-1 counters on it, activate it by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, adding one mana of any color.
2. Repeat step 1 as necessary until Morselhoarder has no -1/-1 counters on it.
3. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Morselhoarder.
4. When Morselhoarder dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop centers around Morselhoarder and Phyrexian Altar, utilizing the altars ability to sacrifice creatures for mana while Morselhoarder's own ability allows it to filter away its native -1/-1 counters for colored mana. Once Morselhoarder is drained and sacrificed to the altar, Isilu, Carrier of Twilight (the back face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn) steps in to grant it persist, bringing it right back to the battlefield with a single -1/-1 counter ready to be removed all over again.
