How it works

  1. Activate Ghave's first ability by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from a creature you control, creating two 1/1 Saproling creature tokens.
  2. Activate Adaptive Gemguard by tapping the Saprolings, putting a +1/+1 counter on Adaptive Gemguard.
  3. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing a Saproling, adding 1.
  4. Repeat.
