How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Glint-Sleeve Artisan.
2. When Glint-Sleeve Artisan dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Glint-Sleeve Artisan enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Repeat.

This clever engine hinges on Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn granting persist to your creatures once it transforms into Isilu, Carrier of Twilight, which allows Glint-Sleeve Artisan to return from the graveyard whenever it perishes. To fuel and neutralize the drawback of that persist trigger, Glint-Sleeve Artisan's entry triggers its fabricate ability to place a +1/+1 counter on itself, which immediately neutralizes the incoming -1/-1 counter through state-based actions via standard rules. Finally, sacrificing Glint-Sleeve Artisan back into Phyrexian Altar provides a continuous stream of colored mana while repeating the entire loop indefinitely.
