How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Fear of Lost Teeth.
2. When Fear of Lost Teeth dies, it and Mortuary triggers.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Fear of Lost Teeth from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Fear of Lost Teeth trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and dealing 1 damage to any target
5. Cast Fear of Lost Teeth from the top of your library by paying 1 life due to Gwenom.
6. Repeat.

This looping setup transforms Phyrexian Altar into a self-sustaining engine by turning the sacrifice of Fear of Lost Teeth into a net-zero cost loop. While the Altar provides the initial mana and sacrifice outlet, Mortuary steps in to instantly intercept the creature as it dies, recycling it directly back to the top of your library. This is where Gwenom, Remorseless does the heavy lifting: its static ability allows you to recast Fear of Lost Teeth straight off the top of your library, bypassing traditional mana costs by paying life instead. Because Fear of Lost Teeth triggers its own drain-and-gain effect upon dying, that 1 life paid to Gwenom is immediately offset, leaving you with infinite colored mana, endless damage, and a storm count that climbs without limit.
