How it works
- Cast Sunshower Druid by paying .
- When Sunshower Druid enters the battlefield, it triggers.
- Holding priority, activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Sunshower Druid, adding .
- Resolve the Sunshower Druid trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on Evolution Witness and causing you to gain 1 life.
- Evolution Witness triggers, returning Sunshower Druid from your graveyard to your hand.
- Repeat.
This elegant loop turns a humble uncommon and a dryad into an endless engine of recycling. By casting Sunshower Druid and immediately sacrificing it to Phyrexian Altar to pay its own way, you bank a mana while sending the Druid to the graveyard. Its entry trigger still resolves to place a +1/+1 counter on Evolution Witness, which in turn triggers the Witness to pluck the Sunshower Druid right back out of your graveyard and into your hand.
