How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Cayth.
2. When Cayth dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Cayth enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Repeat.

This loop transforms Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn into its Isilu, Carrier of Twilight side to grant all your other nontoken creatures persist, creating a resilient foundation where death is merely a revolving door. By sacrificing Cayth, Famed Mechanist to Phyrexian Altar, you generate any color of mana while sending Cayth to the graveyard. Because of Isilu's passive grant, Cayth returns with a -1/-1 counter, but immediately triggers its own fabricate ability—or the one granted by Cayth, Famed Mechanist itself—placing a +1/+1 counter that cancels out the -1/-1 counter entirely. This continuous cycle of sacrifice and rebirth leaves you with an infinite loop of leaves-the-battlefield triggers, enters-the-battlefield triggers, and a limitless supply of colored mana to fuel your victory.
