How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the persist creature.
2. When the persist creature dies, it and Tresserhorn's Lord trigger.
3. Resolve the Tresserhorn's Lord trigger, causing you to draw a card.
4. Resolve the persist creature's trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. When the persist creature enters the battlefield, Olivia triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on the persist creature and causing you to discard a card.
6. Repeat.

This loop turns a persist creature and Phyrexian Altar into a self-sustaining engine by letting Tresserhorn's Lord, Returned leverage every sacrifice to fuel your hand with card draw. Whenever the persist creature returns to the battlefield, Olivia, Mobilized for War steps in to place a +1/+1 counter on it, which immediately neutralizes the incoming -1/+1 counter and keeps the recursion cycle alive. Phyrexian Altar acts as the mana source to fund your board state, while the combination of these triggers yields a mountain of colored mana, death triggers, and card selection.
