How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Hulk.
2. When Hulk dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its replacement effect.
3. Repeat.

This elegant loop harnesses the back side of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight (transformed into Isilu) to grant persist to Hulk, Strongest There Is. With Isilu bestowing persist upon Hulk, you can sacrifice Hulk to Phyrexian Altar for any color of mana; because Hulk enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter from its own ability, that counter immediately cancels out the incoming -1/-1 counter from persist via rules interaction, allowing it to return completely clean. Repeating this sacrifice and return generates infinite mana, enter-the-battlefield triggers, death triggers, and sacrifices to fuel whatever victory you desire.
