How it works

1. Activate Aphetto Alchemist by tapping it, targeting itself.
2. Ertha Jo's second ability triggers, copying Aphetto Alchemist's ability, targeting any other creature or artifact.
3. Resolve both Aphetto Alchemist abilities, untapping it and the other targeted creature or artifact.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop centers on Aphetto Alchemist, whose ability to untap an artifact or creature can normally only target one permanent at a time. Enter Ertha Jo, Frontier Mentor, who acts as the ultimate catalyst: whenever you activate that targeting ability, her static ability steps in to automatically copy it so you can hit a second target. By pointing the original ability at Aphetto Alchemist itself and the copied trigger at any other creature or artifact you control, you create a self-sustaining engine to endlessly untap your board.
