How it works

  1. Cast Whim of Volrath with buyback by paying 2U mana.
  2. Manaform Hellkite triggers, creating a 3/3 Dragon Illusion token.
  3. Resolve Whim of Volrath, returning Whim of Volrath to your hand.
  4. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Dragon Illusion, adding U mana.
  5. The Dragon Illusion dies, triggering Minn's second ability, putting Grinning Ignus from your hand onto the battlefield.
  6. Activate Grinning Ignus by paying R mana and returning it from the battlefield to your hand, adding CCR mana.
  7. Repeat.
