How it works

With Morophon, the Boundless on the battlefield naming Elemental as its chosen type, the mana value of Grinning Ignus is shaved down so that its activation cost of one red mana completely funds recasting it for two generic mana, while leaving a floating colorless mana behind with every single iteration. Because Morophon is a changeling, it seamlessly anchors the type while the Ignus bounces back and forth from the battlefield to your hand, generating boundless enters-the-battlefield triggers, leaves-the-battlefield triggers, and a towering storm count.
