How it works

1. Activate Deathbringer Thoctar by removing a +1/+1 counter on it, targeting itself, but putting two +1/+1 counters on it due to Vigor.
2. Activate Deathbringer Thoctar by removing a +1/+1 counter on it, dealing 1 damage to any target.
3. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns Deathbringer Thoctar into a self-sustaining engine of destruction by leveraging replacement effects to generate surplus power. While Deathbringer Thoctar's own ability usually costs a counter just to deal a single point of damage, Solid Ground steps in to augment every counter placed upon it, ensuring that targeted damage to itself yields a net gain. At the same time, Vigor watches over your board, transforming that self-inflicted damage into an influx of growth rather than harm.
