Renata, Called to the Hunt

How it works

1. Activate Blasting Station by tapping it and sacrificing the persist creature.
2. When the persist creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Renata.
3. When the persist creature enters, Blasting Station triggers, untapping Blasting Station.
4. Resolve the Blasting Station ability from step 1.
5. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns a standard persist creature into an infinite-damage engine by leveraging Renata, Called to the Hunt as a brilliant mechanical counterweight. Because Renata places an additional +1/+1 counter on entering creatures, she instantly cancels out the -1/-1 counter that persist would normally apply, allowing your creature to return to the battlefield unscathed time and time again. You simply sacrifice that creature to Blasting Station to deal 1 damage, and every time the creature returns, Blasting Station's triggered ability untaps itself so you can repeat the process indefinitely.
