How it works

1. Activate Blasting Station by tapping it and sacrificing Lingering Tormentor.
2. When Lingering Tormentor dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Lingering Tormentor enters, Blasting Station triggers, untapping Blasting Station.
4. Resolve the Blasting Station ability from step 1.
5. Activate Blasting Station by tapping it and sacrificing Lingering Tormentor.
6. When Lingering Tormentor dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
7. When Lingering Tormentor enters, Blasting Station triggers, untapping Blasting Station.
8. Resolve the Blasting Station ability from step 5.
9. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the classic creature sacrifice outlet, Blasting Station, into an infinite damage engine by exploiting a quirk of opposing counter mechanics. Normally a creature couldn't bounce back forever, but Mikaeus, the Unhallowed grants undying to non-Human creatures while Lingering Tormentor brings its own persist ability to the table. When Lingering Tormentor dies, its persist and undying triggers alternate depending on which type of counter it currently wears: the +1/+1 counter from undying cancels out the -1/-1 counter from persist when it dies again, resetting the cycle indefinitely. Every time Lingering Tormentor re-enters the battlefield, Blasting Station untaps itself thanks to its own triggered ability, ready to be tapped again to hurl endless damage at any target.
