How it works

1. Activate Unctus by paying U/P, causing Basalt Monolith to become a blue artifact in addition to its other types until end of turn.
2. Activate Basalt Monolith's first ability by tapping it, adding CCC.
3. Basalt Monolith triggers, causing you to loot.
4. Activate Basalt Monolith's second ability by paying CCC, untapping it.
5. Repeat from step 2.

By animating Basalt Monolith with Ensoul Artifact and transforming it into a blue creature via Unctus, Grand Metatect's ability, you turn the heavy rock into an engine that feeds itself. Tapping the Monolith for three colorless mana simultaneously triggers Unctus to let you draw and discard, completely mitigating any hand-churning drawback. You then channel that exact mana right back into the Monolith's untap ability, leaving you free to repeat the loop indefinitely for infinite loot triggers.
