How it works

1. Activate Basalt Monolith's first ability by tapping it, adding CCC. Relic Putrescence triggers.
2. Holding priority, activate Basalt Monolith's second ability by paying 3, untapping it.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 eight additional times, and then repeat step 1 once. This will result in a total of ten Relic Putrescence triggers.
4. Holding priority, activate Bazaar Trader by tapping it, donating Basalt Monolith to an opponent.
5. Resolve all Relic Putrescence triggers, causing the opponent who controls it to get ten poison counters. They will then lose the game as a state-based action.

This sinister little contraption turns your own mana rock into a lethal weapon by exploiting the subtle text on Relic Putrescence, which triggers whenever the enchanted artifact becomes tapped—regardless of *who* is tapping it. You simply use Basalt Monolith's ability to tap for colorless mana and immediately pay to untap it, cycling this loop to generate an arbitrary number of triggers without ever letting the artifact leave the battlefield. Once the trap is fully primed, Bazaar Trader steps in to permanently hand over control of the enchanted Basalt Monolith to your doomed target just in time for the stack of poison counters to resolve, instantly wiping them out of the game.
