How it works

1. Activate Basalt Monolith's first ability by tapping it, adding CCC. Relic Putrescence triggers.
2. Holding priority, activate Basalt Monolith's second ability by paying 3, untapping it.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 eight additional times, and then repeat step 1 once. This will result in a total of ten Relic Putrescence triggers.
4. Holding priority, activate Stiltzkin by paying 2 and tapping it, donating Basalt Monolith to an opponent and causing you to draw a card.
5. Resolve all Relic Putrescence triggers, causing the opponent who controls it to get ten poison counters. They will then lose the game as a state-based action.

This clever concoction uses Basalt Monolith's unique ability to untap itself for three mana—generating infinite taps without actually needing to spend outside resources—to rapidly accumulate activations. Because Relic Putrescence is enchanting that very artifact, every single tap triggers it to dole out poison counters to the controller of the enchanted permanent. To turn those counters lethal, Stiltzkin, Moogle Merchant steps in to donate the hardworking Basalt Monolith to your unfortunate opponent just in time, handing them ownership of the ticking time bomb so the accumulated triggers resolve and instantly win you the game.
