How it works

1. Activate Warren Soultrader by paying 1 life and sacrificing the persist creature.
2. When the persist creature dies, its persist ability and Wayward Disciple trigger if its on the battlefield.
3. Resolve the Wayward Disciple trigger, if applicable, causing target opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
4. Resolve the persist trigger, returning the persist creature from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. When the persist creature enters, Pious Evangel triggers if its on the battlefield, causing you to gain 1 life.
6. Resolve the Warren Soultrader ability, creating a Treasure token.
7. When the Treasure enters, Mm'menon triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on the persist creature.
8. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a disposable creature into an endless engine of profit, using Warren Soultrader to sacrifice it for a Treasure token while mitigating the life cost entirely. As that Treasure enters the battlefield, Mm'menon, Uthros Exile triggers to place a +1/+1 counter on your returning persist creature, which conveniently neutralizes the -1/+1 counter it would otherwise accumulate from its own resurrection. Meanwhile, Pious Evangel—or its transformed face, Wayward Disciple—oversees the entire cycle to continuously drain your opponent's life total and pad your own life ledger with every birth and death.
