How it works

1. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing a green nontoken creature.
2. When the creature dies, Verdant Succession and Mortuary trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting the creature on top of your library from your graveyard.
4. Resolve the Verdant Succession trigger, returning the creature from your library to the battlefield.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the cycle of life and death into an endless engine of red mana. When you sacrifice a green nontoken creature to Thermopod, both Mortuary and Verdant Succession trigger simultaneously upon its death. Mortuary immediately places the creature card on top of your library, allowing Verdant Succession to find that exact card in your library and return it straight to the battlefield. By continuously feeding the same creature back into Thermopod's sacrificial maw, you generate an endless cascade of enters-the-battlefield, leaves-the-battlefield, and death triggers alongside infinite red mana.
