How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and The Wind Crystal.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Kor Celebrant triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Kor Celebrant trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Kor Celebrant trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a modest feline into an entire battalion by exploiting permanent cost-reduction and a clever self-bouncing trigger. With both Defiler of Faith and The Wind Crystal working together to reduce Whitemane Lion's mana cost down to zero while you pay 2 life instead, casting the Lion becomes entirely free. Each time Whitemane Lion enters the battlefield, its trigger forces you to return a creature you control—namely itself—back to your hand so you can cast it all over again. Meanwhile, Defiler of Faith capitalizes on the spell cast by producing a 1/1 Soldier token, which in turn triggers Kor Celebrant to gain you life. The Wind Crystal even doubles that incoming life, making the entire engine delightfully self-sustaining as you churn out infinite tokens, storm count, and life.
