How it works

1. Whenever an opponent casts a spell, activate Lullmage Mentor by tapping seven untapped Merfolk, countering that spell.
2. Lullmage Mentor triggers, creating a total of twelve 1/1 Merfolk creature tokens.
3. Repeat.

This clever control loop turns a single counterspell into an overwhelming swarm of Merfolk, locking down your opponents' entire hands. When you use Lullmage Mentor's activated ability to counter an incoming spell, its own triggered ability normally rewards you with a single Merfolk token—but thanks to the massive token-doubling and tripling effects of Anointed Procession, Primal Vigor, and Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation, that single trigger instead floods the board with twelve new creatures. Those newly spawned tokens immediately replenish your ranks, allowing you to simply tap seven untapped Merfolk to counter the next spell your opponents dare to cast and repeat the process indefinitely.
