How it works

This engine turns a single counterspell into an absolute lockdown by combining token multiplication with Merfolk tribal synergy. When Lullmage Mentor taps seven untapped Merfolk to counter an opponent's spell, its own triggered ability normally rewards you with a single 1/1 Merfolk token—but because Doubling Season, Mondrak, Glory Dominus, and Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation form a massive replacement-effect chain, that single token is multiplied exponentially into twelve brand-new Merfolk instead. This leaves you with a massive surplus of untapped bodies to immediately pay Lullmage Mentor's cost again, allowing you to counter every subsequent spell your opponents cast while flooding the board with near-infinite creature tokens.
