How it works

1. Whenever an opponent casts a spell, activate Lullmage Mentor by tapping seven untapped Merfolk, countering that spell.
2. Lullmage Mentor triggers, creating a total of eight 1/1 Merfolk creature tokens.
3. Repeat.

This marvelous engine creates an unbreakable defensive lock by leveraging a cascade of token doublers to fuel Lullmage Mentor's counterspell ability. Whenever an opponent dares cast a spell, you tap seven untapped Merfolk to have Lullmage Mentor counter it, which in turn triggers its own ability to make a 1/1 Merfolk creature token. Because Primal Vigor, Mondrak, Glory Dominus, and Exalted Sunborn are all present to multiply your token generation, that single created token is amplified exponentially into eight brand new Merfolk. This instantly replenishes your tapped army well beyond the seven required to activate Lullmage Mentor again, leaving you with enough creatures to endlessly counter every spell your opponents attempt to cast.
