How it works

1. Whenever an opponent casts a spell, activate Lullmage Mentor by tapping seven untapped Merfolk, countering that spell.
2. Lullmage Mentor triggers, creating a total of eight 1/1 Merfolk creature tokens.
3. Repeat.

This marvelous interaction turns a simple counterspell into an unstoppable snowball of aquatic reinforcements. When Lullmage Mentor steps up to counter an opponent's spell using its tap ability, its own triggered ability normally rewards you with a single Merfolk token, but the exponential token doublers Anointed Procession, Primal Vigor, and Adrix and Nev, Twincasters all step in to multiply that single token into a massive school of eight new Merfolk. Because you need just seven untapped Merfolk to activate Lullmage Mentor's counter ability again, this massive influx leaves you with plenty of bodies to spare, allowing you to completely lock down the stack and counter every single spell your opponents attempt to cast.
