How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Cathodion.
2. When Cathodion dies, it and Mortuary trigger.
3. Resolve the Cathodion trigger, adding CCC.
4. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Cathodion on top of your library from your graveyard.
5. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Cathodion's power.
6. Cast Cathodion from the top of your library by paying 3.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop lets you grind through your library by turning a humble automaton into a self-sustaining mill engine. Altar of Dementia provides the sacrifice outlet to mill your opponent and trigger Cathodion's death ability, which conveniently refunds the exact amount of mana needed to keep the cycle moving. Meanwhile, Mortuary acts as the crucial glue, instantly recycling Cathodion from the graveyard straight back to the top of your library where Experimental Frenzy empowers you to cast it over and over again.
