How it works

1. Activate Necrotic Ooze using Llanowar Scout's ability by tapping it, putting a land from your hand onto the battlefield.
2. If the land is mana-producing and enters the battlefield untapped, you may activate it by tapping it, adding at least 1.
3. Activate Necrotic Ooze using Trench Behemoth's ability by returning the land from the battlefield to your hand, untapping Necrotic Ooze.
4. Repeat.

By acting as a vessel for multiple creature activated abilities at once, Necrotic Ooze weaves together a clever loop utilizing the unique strengths in this graveyard-centric engine. First, you leverage Llanowar Scout's tapping ability—borrowed by the Ooze—to quickly drop a land from your hand directly onto the battlefield. Then, you tap that same land for mana before invoking Trench Behemoth's ability, which bounces the land right back to your hand to untap the Ooze. Because the land returns to your hand instead of staying put, you can repeat this sequence indefinitely to generate an endless stream of mana and continuous landfall triggers.
