How it works
Activate Thran Forge by paying 2, giving Sphinx's Disciple +1/+0 and causing it to become an artifact until end of turn.
Cast Idris either from your hand or from the command zone by paying 1 and commander tax, if applicable.
When Idris enters the battlefield, its imprint ability triggers, targeting Sphinx's Disciple.
Holding priority, activate Strionic Resonator by paying 2 and tapping it, copying Idris' trigger, targeting Basalt Monolith.
Resolve both Idris triggers, exiling Basalt Monolith and Sphinx's Disciple.
During your next turn, activate Idris using Basalt Monolith's first ability by tapping it, adding CCC.
Activate Idris using Basalt Monolith's second ability by paying 3, untapping it.
Sphinx's Disciple triggers, causing you to draw a card.
Repeat from step 6.
This clever loop turns Idris, Soul of the TARDIS into a powerhouse by letting its imprint ability absorb multiple targets at once—thanks to Strionic Resonator copying the entry trigger so you can exile both Basalt Monolith and a temporarily artifact-fied Sphinx's Disciple. Once imprinted, Idris inherits the Monolith's mana-producing and self-untapping engine alongside the Disciple's inspired trigger, allowing you to cycle the untap ability infinitely. Thran Forge is the crucial enabler that makes Sphinx's Disciple a valid artifact target for the imprint in the first place, cementing a wonderfully complex cascade of synergies.
