How it works
Activate Memnarch's first ability by paying 1, causing Sphinx's Disciple to become an artifact.
Cast Idris either from your hand or from the command zone by paying 1 and commander tax, if applicable.
When Idris enters the battlefield, its imprint ability triggers, targeting Sphinx's Disciple.
Holding priority, activate Strionic Resonator by paying 2 and tapping it, copying Idris' trigger, targeting Basalt Monolith.
Resolve both Idris triggers, exiling Basalt Monolith and Sphinx's Disciple.
During your next turn, activate Idris using Basalt Monolith's first ability by tapping it, adding CCC.
Activate Idris using Basalt Monolith's second ability by paying 3, untapping it.
Sphinx's Disciple triggers, causing you to draw a card.
Repeat from step 6.
This clever engine turns Idris, Soul of the TARDIS into a self-contained powerhouse by using Strionic Resonator to double its entry trigger, letting it snatch up two artifacts at once. By exiling both Basalt Monolith and Sphinx's Disciple beneath Idris, the soul-ship absorbs the monolith's mana-producing and self-untapping abilities alongside the disciple's inspired trigger. Memnarch does the crucial setup work beforehand by turning the disciple into an artifact, ensuring it's a legal target for the imprint. Once the pieces are in place, you can endlessly tap and untap Idris to generate mana while drawing your entire deck through the stolen inspired ability.
