How it works

  1. Cast Walk the Aeons by paying its mana cost, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  2. Cast Ephemerate by paying W mana, blinking Revolutionist and exiling Ephemerate.
  3. When Revolutionist enters, it triggers, returning Walk the Aeons from your graveyard to your hand.
  4. Move to your next turn. At the beginning of your upkeep, Ephemerate's rebound ability triggers, causing you to cast it from exile without paying its mana cost.
  5. Resolve Ephemerate, blinking Revolutionist.
  6. When Revolutionist enters, it triggers, returning Ephemerate from your graveyard to your hand.
  7. Repeat.

This clever loop strings together extra turns and recursive spellcasting by leaning on Revolutionist's enters-the-battlefield trigger to constantly recycle your graveyard. When you cast Walk the Aeons, you take an extra turn, but to keep the chain going indefinitely, you need a way to get it back—which is where Ephemerate comes in. By using Ephemerate to repeatedly blink Revolutionist, you continually pull Walk the Aeons and Ephemerate back to your hand, ensuring you can take infinite turns without running out of resources.
