How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and The Wind Crystal.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Guide of Souls triggers, causing you to gain life and get E
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Guide of Souls trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Guide of Souls trigger, causing you to gain life and get E
7. Repeat.

This ingenious loop relies on reducing the cost of Whitemane Lion down to free, using The Wind Crystal and Defiler of Faith to completely wipe away its mana requirements while leveraging your life total instead. Each time the Lion enters the battlefield, its own trigger bounces itself right back to your hand, while Defiler of Faith creates a fresh 1/1 Soldier creature token to keep the chain moving. Because Guide of Souls and The Wind Crystal are sitting on the board, every single one of those tokens entering the battlefield floods you with doubled life and piles of energy counters. You can repeat this process as many times as you desire, effortlessly churning out an endless army of tokens alongside boundless life and energy.
