How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and The Wind Crystal.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Hinterland Sanctifier triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Hinterland Sanctifier trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Hinterland Sanctifier trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop lets you cast Whitemane Lion repeatedly for free, as Defiler of Faith and The Wind Crystal combine to entirely eliminate the spell's mana cost when you pay 2 life. Every time the Lion enters, its own trigger bounces it right back to your hand while Hinterland Sanctifier quietly observes the commotion to reward you with life. Meanwhile, Defiler of Faith capitalizes on the revolving door of white permanent spells by flooding the board with an endless army of 1/1 Soldier tokens.
