How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and The Wind Crystal.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Virulent Emissary triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Virulent Emissary trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Virulent Emissary trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop uses Defiler of Faith and The Wind Crystal together to reduce the cost of Whitemane Lion down to absolute zero, allowing you to cast it repeatedly from your hand for free by paying 2 life each time. Every iteration triggers Defiler of Faith to flood the board with 1/1 Soldier tokens, which in turn feed Virulent Emissary to continuously gain you life. Thanks to The Wind Crystal doubling that life gain, you easily offset the life you spend on the Defiler's cost while churning out an endless storm count and a massive army.
