How it works

1. Activate Aphelia by paying 4, causing an opponent to lose half their life total, rounded up, whenever they are dealt combat damage by a Gorgon or Snake this turn.
2. Deal combat damage to the opponent using a Gorgon and/or Snake.
3. Aphelia triggers, causing the opponent to lose half their life total, rounded up.
4. At the beginning of your end step, Wound Reflection triggers, causing the opponent to lose life equal to the life they've lost this turn.
5. The opponent loses the game due to having 0 or less life.

This lethal sequence relies on doubling up on life loss to finish off an opponent from any starting health total in a single turn. First, you activate the massive damage-doubling ability on Aphelia, Viper Whisperer, which also brings a steady stream of deathtouch Snake tokens to the battlefield when she attacks. Once those reptilian attackers connect with your opponent, Aphelia's triggered effect halves that player's remaining life total. To seal the deal, Wound Reflection watches over the carnage during your end step and triggers to make that same opponent lose life equal to the total life they lost throughout the turn, instantly reducing them to zero.
