How it works

  1. Cast Kor Skyfisher by paying 1W mana.
  2. Inexorable Tide triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Workhorse and a charge counter on Gemstone Array.
  3. When Kor Skyfisher enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning itself from the battlefield to your hand.
  4. Activate Gemstone Array's second ability by removing a charge counter from it, adding W mana.
  5. Activate Workhorse by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, adding C.
  6. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Inexorable Tide to continuously fuel itself every time you cast a spell, turning the entire engine into a self-sustaining perpetual motion machine. As you repeatedly cast Kor Skyfisher—which conveniently bounces itself back to your hand upon entering the battlefield to keep your hand stocked—the resulting proliferation adds replacement counters right back to your power sources. Those reclaimed resources come from Gemstone Array, which converts its growing charge counters into the white mana you need, and Workhorse, which sacrifices its own +1/+1 counters for colorless mana to pay the rest of the casting cost.
