How it works

1. Cause Vhal to become an artifact using Phyrexian Scriptures.
2. Activate Vhal by tapping it, adding at least CCC.
3. Activate Voltaic Construct by paying 2, untapping Vhal.
4. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop hinges on turning our commander into a machine using the first chapter of Phyrexian Scriptures, which permanently transforms Vhal, Candlekeep Researcher into an artifact creature. Once Vhal wears that new type, her tap ability can be endlessly fueled and refreshed by Voltaic Construct's untap activation, generating massive amounts of colorless mana in the process. While that mana comes with the restriction that it can't be spent to cast spells from your hand, it still pours effortlessly back into the construct to keep the engine spinning indefinitely.
