How it works

1. At the beginning of your upkeep, Stasis and Thopter Spy Network's first ability trigger.
2. Resolve the Thopter Spy Network trigger, creating a 1/1 Thopter artifact creature token.
3. Activate Urza's first ability by tapping the Thopter, adding .
4. Resolve the Stasis trigger, causing you to pay .
5. Repeat during each of your turns.
6. As long as Stasis is on the battlefield, players skip their untap steps.

This elegant lock centers around Stasis, which completely shuts down everyone's untap steps to freeze the board state. Because normal untapping is off the table, you use Urza, Lord High Artificer's mana ability to tap your artifacts for blue mana—specifically feeding that mana right back into Stasis's upkeep cost to keep it on the battlefield indefinitely. Meanwhile, Thopter Spy Network quietly builds you an army by churning out flying Thopter tokens during your upkeep, giving you a fresh artifact to tap for Urza each turn while also netting you extra card draw whenever your artifact creatures deal combat damage.
