How it works
- Activate Heronblade Elite by tapping it, adding at least .
- Activate Scryb Ranger by returning it from the battlefield to your hand, untapping Heronblade Elite.
- Cast Scryb Ranger by paying 1.
- Repeat.
The magic here relies entirely on Ashaya, Soul of the Wild's passive ability, which brilliantly turns every nontoken creature you control into a Forest land alongside its other types. Because Heronblade Elite is now a Forest, Scryb Ranger's activation cost—returning a Forest you control to your hand—can target the Ranger itself, bouncing it back to your hand so you can recast it for `{1}{G}` while simultaneously untapping Heronblade Elite. Each cycle feeds Heronblade Elite's tap ability (fueled by its growing power from +1/+1 counters or base stats) to generate more than enough green mana to recast the Ranger, leaving you with an endless loop of enters-the-battlefield and leaves-the-battlefield triggers, boundless colored mana, and an astronomical storm count.
