How it works

1. Activate Ilysian Caryatid by tapping it, adding .
2. Activate Scryb Ranger by returning it from the battlefield to your hand, untapping Ilysian Caryatid.
3. Cast Scryb Ranger by paying 1.

This loop is a brilliant demonstration of type-changing wizardry, turning the very fabric of your creatures into lands to feed an engine. With Ashaya, Soul of the Wild on the battlefield, every single nontoken creature you control—including Scryb Ranger and Ilysian Caryatid—becomes a Forest land in addition to its other types. This means Scryb Ranger can pay its own activation cost by returning itself to your hand, bypassing its normal once-per-turn restriction since a newly cast copy enters as a fresh object ready to be bounced again. Meanwhile, Ilysian Caryatid acts as the mana engine, tapping for two green mana because Ashaya naturally boosts its power and toughness to easily clear the four-power threshold. By spending just one green mana to recast the Ranger and generating a net positive on every cycle, you unlock an infinite stream of mana, storm count, and triggers.
