How it works

1. Activate Axebane Guardian by tapping it, adding at least .
2. Activate Scryb Ranger by returning it from the battlefield to your hand, untapping Axebane Guardian.
3. Cast Scryb Ranger by paying 1.

This brilliant loop turns your entire board into a self-sustaining mana engine by leveraging Ashaya, Soul of the Wild to transform every nontoken creature you control into a Forest land in addition to its other types. This classification allows Scryb Ranger to bounce itself—or any other friendly creature—back to your hand to satisfy its own untap cost, while Axebane Guardian taps to generate enough mana to easily recast Scryb Ranger each iteration. Because Axebane Guardian also counts toward itself and your other defenders, each cycle yields a net positive of mana alongside limitless enter-the-battlefield and leave-the-battlefield triggers.
