How it works

1. Cast Sakashima's Student by paying its mana cost. Choose to have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
2. Put Sakashima's Student into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
3. Sakashima's Student's first ability and second ability trigger, along with Rakdos Joins Up's second ability.
4. Resolve Sakashima's Student's second trigger and Rakdos Joins Up's trigger, dealing damage to target opponent.
5. Resolve Sakashima's Student's first trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
6. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop hinges on exploiting the legend rule by having Sakashima's Student enter the battlefield as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up, causing both legendary enchantments to immediately crash into the graveyard. That sudden death triggers the original Rakdos Joins Up's damage ability while simultaneously putting the copy's own graveyard-return trigger on the stack, which fishes Sakashima's Student right back out enhanced with two additional +1/+1 counters. Starfield of Nyx plays a vital role here as well; while its static ability isn't required just to bounce the copy back and forth, it anchors your enchantment synergy and turns your board state into a relentless engine. By repeating this process infinitely, you continuously churn out death triggers and creature enters-the-battlefield effects to blast your opponent out of the game.
