How it works

1. Activate Anti-Venom using Deathbringer Thoctar's ability by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, targeting itself and putting two +1/+1 counters on it due to its replacement effect and Doubling Season.
2. Activate Anti-Venom using Deathbringer Thoctar's ability by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to any target.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms Anti-Venom into a versatile powerhouse by feeding it Deathbringer Thoctar's activated abilities through Agatha's Soul Cauldron. Once Anti-Venom bears a +1/+1 counter and gains Deathbringer Thoctar's activated ability via the Cauldron, it can use that ability to shoot itself for 1 damage; its own replacement effect prevents that damage and grants it counters instead, an output further doubled by Doubling Season. This creates a net gain of counters that fuels an endless cycle of self-inflicted pings or lethal damage to any target.
