How it works
- Activate Shorikai by paying 1 and tapping it, causing you to draw two cards, discard a card and create a 1/1 Pilot creature token.
- Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Pilot, adding CC.
- Activate Mind over Matter by discarding a card, untapping Shorikai.
- Repeat.
This clever loop transforms Shorikai, Genesis Engine into an absolute card-drawing machine by leveraging Mind Over Matter to repeatedly untap it at instant speed. Each time Shorikai is activated, it not only feeds your hand and loots away unwanted cards, but also produces a Pilot creature token. That token is then immediately fed to Ashnod's Altar to generate the mana needed to keep the engine going, while Mind Over Matter's discard cost conveniently provides the cards you need to keep untapping your commander.
