How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Elegant Edgecrafters.
2. When Elegant Edgecrafters dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Elegant Edgecrafters enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever engine revolves around Shilgengar, Sire of Famine turning your creatures into a steady stream of Blood tokens while setting up a recursive loop. When you feed Elegant Edgecrafters to Shilgengar, the Edgecrafters's persist ability—granted by the backside of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight—brings it right back to the battlefield carrying a -1/-1 counter. That entry immediately triggers Elegant Edgecrafters's fabricate ability, placing a +1/+1 counter that conveniently cancels out the -1/-1 counter as state-based actions are checked. This leaves the Edgecrafters completely clean and ready to be sacrificed to Shilgengar all over again, generating infinite death triggers, artifact tokens, and creature leaves-the-battlefield events.
