How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Phylath.
2. When Phylath dies, Pitiless Plunderer and Nim Deathmantle trigger.
3. Resolve the Pitiless Plunderer trigger, creating a Treasure artifact token.
4. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding 1.
5. Resolve the Nim Deathmantle trigger, causing you to pay 4 to return Phylath from your graveyard to the battlefield, and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
6. When Phylath enters the battlefield, its first ability triggers, creating at least three 0/1 Plant creature tokens.
7. Activate Altar of Dementia three times by sacrificing three Plants.
8. When the Plants die, Pitiless Plunderer triggers three times, creating three Treasure artifact tokens.
9. Resolve the Altar of Dementia abilities from steps 1 and 7, causing target player to mill cards equal to the sacrificed creatures' powers.
10. Activate three Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 3.
11. Repeat.
12. If you control at least four basic lands, this combo nets infinite Plant tokens, Treasure tokens and colored mana.

This loop transforms the natural synergy of landfall and sacrifice into an endless engine of creation and destruction, provided you control at least four basic lands. When you sacrifice Phylath, World Sculptor to the Altar of Dementia, Pitiless Plunderer funds the return of Nim Deathmantle while generating the material needed to keep the cycle going. Reentering the battlefield, Phylath calls forth a fresh harvest of Plant tokens, which can then be sacrificed to Altar of Dementia to mill your opponents and feed the Pitiless Plunderer once more.
