How it works

1. Give Aetherflux Reservoir lifelink, if needed.
2. Activate Aetherflux Reservoir by paying 50 life, dealing 50 damage to any target and causing you to gain 50 life.
3. Repeat step 2.

The secret to this loop lies in transforming our engine into a creature using Animate Artifact, giving it a power and toughness equal to its mana value so it can ultimately receive lifelink. Once that life-granting modifier is in place, Aetherflux Reservoir can safely fire its second ability, paying fifty life to deal fifty damage to any target. Because the Reservoir has lifelink, that massive chunk of damage immediately nets us fifty life right back, fully replenishing the resource we just spent and allowing us to repeat the devastation infinitely.
